Some more images from our time in Luang Prabang. We did a lot of walking.

P.S.
We'll be giving away one of our new 2012 calendars here on the blog early next week!

Taxis looks like this...

We passed by several courts with guys playing a crazy game called "takraw". Similar to volleyball, but they can only use their feet/head instead of hands. These guys are flexible! It was extremely entertaining to watch.
Amazing bamboo bridge crossing a river.

Making furniture.

Traditional silk weaving.

Wood carving.

Paper making (first started in China and then spread to nearby countries like Laos).

Sheets of handmade paper drying in the sun.

Stopped to watch this kid get a haircut...

... and Yuriy decided he needed a shave. Looks like he is on an operating table to me.

Really professional in here. Love the wall art.

According to Yuriy, not nearly as good as the shave he got in Istanbul. He had cuts all over!

Some of the amazing foods we put in our tummies...

Nutella crepes and dirt cheap fruit smoothies.

There's a colorful night market that happens every night on the main road in Luang Prabang. A good place to bring some kip (Lao currency).

  1. Oh my goodness, the shave sounds terrifying!! I hope the cuts weren't too bad. Other than that, amazing photos (per usual)! It's funny seeing little similarities between the Philippines (my motherland) and other southeast Asian countries :)

  6. Awesome photos... My husband had a shave in China and the same thing happened. The man told him he had a funny shaped jaw and that was why it happened. x
